Based on the customer’s needs, Eltek designed and modified a mobile charging unit for uphole bulk emulsion application in an underground copper–gold mine. In addition to the machine design and modifications, Eltek also developed a special recipe for the uphole bulk emulsion. This specially formulated emulsion provides high adhesion between the borehole wall and the product itself.
The application depends on finding the optimum balance between several factors, including product flow rate, hose retraction speed, and sensitizing reaction speed.
With this product, Eltek is able to adjust the energy output according to the rock type to meet customer requirements. Based on field measurements performed by Eltek (MREL Microtrap device, the VOD can reach up to 5,500 m/s.)
For this special application, Eltek also provides electronic detonators to ensure precise blast timing and improved vibration control.
